When Friends Donate, We Build a Stronger Foundation

Friendship Mission is a set of homeless shelters and a public soup kitchen. The people who come to our doors seek refuge, relief, and nourishment for the body and soul. Friendship Mission is now the only homeless shelter in Montgomery and beyond. Our facilities are well-worn and tattered, but our doors are open today because of your generosity. In 28 years of service to the hungry and homeless, Friendship Mission has never worked alone, you have carried us.
Your giving makes it possible for us to provide shelter, meals, essential documents, case management (guidance to navigate personal obstacles), resource connections (employment, skills training, life skills, housing), and so much more to hundreds of men, women, and families who find themselves homeless in the River Region.
Last year, we provided shelter to 385 men, women, and children (that’s 28,835 emergency shelter bed nights), and between the shelters and the public soup kitchen, served 62,624 meals. Our services did not stop there, additionally, Friendship Mission connected shelter residents to their essential documents (birth certificates, social security cards, identification cards), mental and physical health care, job training, employment, the government benefits they are due, and appropriate housing.
It takes hard work to stabilize a life, it also takes a glimmer of hope, and you. Today, I’m asking you to give hope to the homeless who are working toward a home. Please donate to help Friendship Mission provide for the least, the last, and the lost, our homeless neighbors.

Thank you, DONORS! You have made our first-ever Friends of Friendship campaign a HUGE SUCCESS! What a way to end November, Hunger and Homeless Awareness Month! Will you help us reach another goal? Giving Tuesday is December 3. Your donations can help us restock supplies that we use to operate our shelters and pay the maintenance costs to maintain safe facilities. The first week of December has come in with really low temperatures for our region. As the only large-scale shelter in the community, we need your help to offer as many warm beds and nourishing meals to the hungry and homeless.
